What types of training services do you offer?
I offer in-home private lessons for dog owners who prefer a hands-on approach and want help working through issues in their home or neighborhood environment. I also provide Board and Train programs, where your dog stays with me and receives daily structured training tailored to their individual needs.
Where are you located?
I am based in Santa Rosa, California. My private property is ½ acre that includes a 1,900-square-foot artificial turf training field, providing ample space for exercise, obedience, and socialization work.
What breeds or ages of dogs do you work with?
I work with all breeds and ages, from young puppies just starting out to adult dogs needing behavioral modification. For puppies the basics are potty training, living in the house safe, biting, chewing on this for example. Then when dogs get around 6 months start to pull on the leash. Older dogs have a tendency to need leash reactivity work and pulling on the leash.
What should I expect during an in-home lesson?
In-home lessons are tailored to your dog’s specific needs and occur in the environment where the behavior happens most. We’ll work together to create a training plan, and I’ll coach you through implementing it consistently. We take notes at the end so you have them to refer to in between lessons to help you be successful in your training.
Do you offer group lessons?
No. I think the dog and handler learn much faster with private lessons.
What is included in the Board and Train program?
The Board and Train program includes structured training sessions throughout the day, socialization, exercise, rest, and plenty of care. I provide regular updates, videos, and progress reports. The Board and Train allows me to work with your dog multiple times a day to get your dog immersed in the program and learn at a faster pace. Your dog will stay in a home environment and receive individualized attention. Board and Train programs are a minimum of 2 weeks depending on your dogs needs.
Can I visit my dog during board and train?
Yes, absolutely! I recommend scheduling a time to visit once a week.
Will I receive updates if my dog stays with you?
Yes! I provide updates, including photos or videos, and I’m always available via text or phone to answer questions or share progress.
Are you certified or professionally trained?
Yes. I am a Certified AKC Trick Dog and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, and I’ve trained and titled several dogs in obedience. I bring 20+ years of hands-on experience to each training plan.
How do I book a training session?
You can reach me directly through the Contact Page on this website, call (707) 328-4513). I’ll get back to you promptly to discuss your dog’s needs and schedule a session.
Do you use positive reinforcement or other training methods?
I use a balanced training approach—this means I prioritize clear communication, consistency, and fair boundaries, while tailoring methods to your dog’s temperament and needs. Your dog’s well-being and trust always comes first.
How do I differ from other dog trainers?
I think out of the box! Not all dogs are created equal just like people. I problem solve to fit your needs so you can have a happy and harmonious life with your dog. I am a result orientated person so I get the job done as quickly as possible. Your success is my success.
